‘The Future of Mining in New South Wales’ – Three Companies Developing Gold, Tin and Rare Earths Projects Across the Central-West

On the 7th of March, the Sydney Mining Club will host the Technical Director of Alkane Resources Ian Chalmers, the Chief Executive Officer of Sky Metals Oliver Davies, and the Managing Director of Godolphin Resources Jeneta Owens to discuss their gold, tin and rare earths projects across the central-west of New South Wales.

Alkane Resources (ASX: ALK)
Ian Chalmers, Technical Director

Alkane is a gold miner and explorer in central New South Wales with an exciting portfolio of projects in the production, development and exploration phases.

At its Tomingley project, Alkane mined 70,000 ounces of gold last financial year at a production cost of around A$1,300/oz

On site is a processing plant with a capacity of 1Mtpa and an approval for expansion of up to 1.75Mtpa.

Alkane is planning on establishing an underground mine at its Roswell resource soon. Combined with its San Antonio resource, Rowswell hosts 1.31 Moz of gold.

The company is also expanding studies of its initial Boda Resource of 10.1 Moz of gold and its initial Kaiser resources of 4.7 Moz of gold.

Since the price of gold started to rise in 2019, Alkane’s share price has gone up by 150 per cent, taking its market capitalisation to approximately $350 million.

Sky Metals (ASX: SKY)
Oliver Davies, CEO

Sky Metals is developing a brownfields tin project in the central-west of New South Wales.

At its Tallebung project, Sky has a mineral resource estimate of 15.6Mt @ 0.15% Tin for 23,000 tonnes of contained Tin across a shallow deposit with a low strip ratio.

It has an exploration target of up to 32Mt @ 0.14 – 0.17% tin.

Sky has also adopted game-changing TOMRA ore sorting technology that separates waste from mineralised ore before processing.

Sky continues to drill with the view to convert its exploration targets into resources and commence scoping studies and mine approvals.

Godolphin Resources (ASX: GRL)
Jeneta Owens, Managing Director

Godolphin Resources is developing a pipeline of near-term rare earth, copper and gold projects across New South Wales and Queensland.

The company has several copper and gold projects in the highly prospective Lachlan Fold Belt ready for drilling.

Current resources inventory stands at 519,000 ounces of gold. This is expected to grow.

At its Narraburra Rare Earth project, Godolphin has a JORC mineral resource estimate of 94.9Mt @ 739 ppm including a high-grade core of 20Mt @ 1,079 TREO using a 600 ppm cut off.
