SOME six years since it IPO'd back in July 2003, Hill End Gold is reaching a very interesting juncture, with production at its namesake high grade gold operation in New South Wales on the rise, a new addition emerging in the portfolio located up the road at Hargraves, as well as a number of potential gold, base metal and uranium projects now under the M&A microscope elsewhere in Australia, Africa and Asia. An aggressive production profile is being targeted, and managing director Philip Bruce is set explain the strategy at the Sydney Mining Club early in September.
Fellow NSW gold company Cortona Resources is less advanced than Hill End Gold - it only floated in 2006 - but with an established gold resource grading more than 6pgt located 60km east of Canberra at Majors Creek, as well as targets aplenty, and a fully funded 10,000m drilling program now underway, the company also looks a gold business in the making. Managing director Peter van der Borgh will present the story at the SMC.
