116th Sydney Mining Club Luncheon

4 October 2007
Stewart Howe
Chief Development Officer
Zinifex

In this special event Zinifex will showcase its global exploration and development projects to the Sydney Mining Club, following the de-merger of its zinc smelting and refining assets.

Zinifex is a major global base metal producer operating Century Mine, the world's second largest zinc mine located in Queensland, and Rosebery Mine in Tasmania. Zinifex produces approximately 700,000 tonnes of zinc and lead concentrates annually.

The underlying strategy to Zinifex's future success lies in wealth creation. Shareholder wealth is created through the discovery, development and monetising of mineral reserves. Long-term wealth is created by the utility of our products and in the communities where we work.

A mid-tier miner of base metals, Zinifex's objective is high margin, long life mines focusing on zinc, copper, silver, gold and lead with consideration for niche metals and nickel.

Zinifex has a global portfolio of exploration and development projects. Projects under feasibility currently include the Dugald River deposit near in Queensland, Australia and the Izok Lake deposit in northern Canada. Exploration work is underway in countries including Australia, Canada, China, Mexico, Tunisia and Sweden.

This special event will feature a showcase of Zinifex's projects around the globe presented in the pre-lunch function room by senior technical representatives from each project area.

Stewart Howe, Chief Development Officer, will then outline the business's project pipeline to grow a strong future for Zinifex in Australia, and internationally.
