Shaun Scott |
Arrow Energy is a leading Australian Coal Bed Methane gas player capitalised at some $2.8B and with a growing portfolio of international interests, mainly in the Asian region. Shaun Scott is the CEO for Arrow's Australian operations and will explain why the company expects to quadruple its size over the next five years.
Arrow has identified 70,000PJ or 70 TCF of gross coal seam gas resource on the ground under its control (80,000km²) and a net resource to Arrow of 35.6TCF. To put this in perspective it is the equivalent of 6 billion barrels of oil. Plans are advanced for Arrow to provide the gas feed to the world's first CSG dependent LNG plant on Fisherman's Landing in Gladstone and later, larger quantities to a potential world-scale plant on Curtis Island. Arrow already supplies power to three Qld utilities including the brand new 450MW Braemer 2 Power Station near Dalby. The last 12 months have also seen a lot of M&A activity in the CBM sector and Arrow has been involved in a number of deals itself, all of which will add to the flavour of this presentation.

David Breeze |
Looking closer to home, we have David Breeze, MD of the unlisted Advent Energy which controls 8,000km² of the off-shore Sydney Basin through PEP11. This is a fascinating project and Advent will argue that there is compelling evidence from the seismic data of key indicators of hydrocarbon accumulation features off-shore and a prospective recoverable resource estimate of up to 16TCF has been suggested. The model is supported by gas flows and oil shows on-shore and supportive evidence that there exist gas/condensate charged Permian and Triassic reservoirs only 20km from the coast.
This a story about gas seepage, accumulated sediments, hydrocarbon traps, parallels to the Gulf of Mexico, the Gippsland Basin and much more. Ultimately, the only way to find out whether there is a substantial resource on our doorstep will be by drilling. Don't miss hearing David Breeze explain the company's plans to achieve this.
