In Spain, Sandfire has three mines and a 4mtpa processing facility – smack bang in the middle of the Iberian Pyrite Belt. There the company processed 4.4Mt of ore in Q3 FY24 on an annualised basis – yielding a hefty 14.2kt of copper, 18.5kt of zinc, 1.4kt of lead and 600koz of silver.
Similar results were posted from Botswana where Sandfire has three mines and a 5.2mtpa processing facility in the Kalahari Copper Belt. There the company processed 4.7Mt of ore in Q3 FY24 on an annualised basis – yielding 10.8kt of copper and 300koz of silver.
With an Underlying Operations EBITDA margin of 45% and a market capitalisation of $4.5bn, Sandfire couldn’t be better placed as the world’s copper shortage grips.
