NSW hosts Australia’s biggest mine, Newcrest’s Cadia-Ridgeway at Orange. A stampede of explorers are now testing the trend for similar riches nearby at Wellington. Magmatic Resources (ASX:MAG) MD Peter Duerden continues with the drilling and the results coming. He’s hit the same grade as Cadia East is mining, has mirror geology, and is now hunting for the tonnes as the district continues to excite the NSW copper-gold explorers and investors.
With copper in hot demand and gold cruising strong, Grant Craighead’s Canterbury Resources (ASX:CBY) has expert explorers back in PNG jungles in the hot pursuit of copper-gold porphyry elephants. Two are on mainland PNG on-trend with the billion tonne Wafi-Golpu deposit, the Hidden Valley gold mine and the mighty Wau-Bulolo goldfield. Near Gladstone Qld Canterbury (with Rio) is chasing the Briggs porphyry target estimated at 45 to 165Mt at 0.4% to 0.8% copper, and just a stone’s throw from the Bruce Highway.
Investors are piling into MD Brad Lingo’s Pilot Energy (ASX:PGY) which modestly states its objectives as ‘gas production, energy storage and renewable projects’. Its stock has surged 250% over the last quarter as attention turns to four fascinating areas Pilot operates onshore and offshore Western Australia, quite close to Perth. Lingo is an experienced leader in the sector and has pivoted Pilot to fresh plans, now coming out of wraps.
